| Wow. So long to be here. So here goes.
This New Years holiday I will be visiting Virginia. It will not be just me. It will be me and Kathleen (the gf) in tow. In making the plans I've notices a good number of people very happy to hear about a visit. And it got me thinking...why did I ever really leave? It's not that I haven't met incredibly wonderful people in Texas or that I regret ever coming here; but the whole thing has made me realize how much I love NOVA. Yes, I said love. You people up there have actual weather, and trees, and hills, and birds sing, and a barren piece of land in Virginia is an historic battle site. In Houston, it's undeveloped terrain. So I ask myself, why shouldn't I live in a place I want to? I don't have any career hopes down here. I would be sad to leave the people down here, as well so that's the double edged sword, I guess. We shall see.
Which brings me to Kathleen. It was HER idea for a Virginia trip because she'd like to scope it out, as in, keep it in idea for the future. She's very vocal about leaving Houston and moving somewhere North-ish...hmmm.
Pete and I are going to Vegas (yay!) this next week for his birthday. Expect a kick ass return post.
My sister's pregnant yeeha I guess. She's super sane about it so I have no worries. Well I should get to bed. The assistant manager at my store quit suddenly so hopefully that means a promotion for yours truly. Time to rest up. Later | comments: Leave a comment   |

I was thinking the other night (surprisingly sober) and decided it was about time to think about the possibility of getting a tattoo.
I kinda want to do something quaint that's a memory of GMU or Virginia, and I want it on my arm. Something obscurely related yet with a unique meaning to myself would be perfect I think.

So Muslim leaders can call for murder and condemn freely, but a Christian leader jostles the marbles in one direction and the world gets to go apeshit. Mmmmm TASTE the hypocrisy.
This is not to say it's ALL muslims, it's just the fact that I want to point out that the church could be taking a huge insult and retaliating, but they're not. Most likely, we'll turn the other cheek. Doing what, you know, religion is supposed to teach us to do.

| cue the music, lower the curtains, light the candles; obligatory Texas update time. Just chilled the week away with Christina (sister) and Adilehg (her husband). Basically sat around the pool at night, drank wine and jack and cokes, and smoked cigars. Talked about books (gotta start reading that Franzen). Parents were out of town so it was nice partaking in alcohol and nicotine without that pesky "looking over my shoulder" feeling.

I did not devote myself religiously for 20 odd weeks to 9 pm on Monday just to see THAT happen!! I am talking January to May was 24. They killed Edgar, they killed Tony, they killed David Palmer, they killed Michelle <--- these were pathos enough. ON A SHOW built on cliffhanger structure, shouldn't the final episode NOT be a cliffhanger? Shouldn't the last episode be all the closure you've been teased for the last 5 months? What the hell is this? Dallas? The Simpsons?

I do have a valid reason for my lack of reason. That is, I don't want to move my many bottles of wine, and thus, have resolved to consume said bottles in a marathon of pizzza and beaujolais and a comp disc I just bought of DC UNderground artists like Albert Strange's song, "Grab My Cock and Cry". I wanted at least once for a tryst before I left Virginia, sigh, oh well, we can only leave regrets in the places we've been, never in the places we go to. I should write that doown. Wait! I just have. Thank god for live journal blogging excelsior and Latin blessings and the whatnot miscellanesou prayers accompany a proper Christian upbringing. I shouldn't say that proper belongs soley to Christians, because there are proper Buddhists and proper Jewish, and proper Muslims. There should be a world org called "The Proper People of the World.' Of course it'd work, it'd be fantabulous.
